Succeeding in the long RUN!

You know how fast someone can get lots of attention suddenly. This someone can be you. Being in the spot of the public can be fun or overwhelming. In either way it affects your live.

Think about Susan Boyle a 47 year old woman from a small town in Scotland. She is gifted with a wonderful voice. And she has a dream since ages: she wants to be a professional singer. She did a lot of practise and learning in all those years.

Then suddenly from one second to the other she was known around the world. She got incredible offers and stayed cool for a while. Lots of people in her village changed the way how they treated her. Why, because NOW Susan is famous and has to be respected. Who cared about respecting her before? Just very few friends.

What made her success was: all could feel her desire when she sang Dream from LesMiserables. This song was performed from her heart, with all her hopes and wishes. The intensity of this feelings was created through lots of unpleasant actions from other people towards her.

Her singing in the semi-final disappointed many people. Why, simply because the audience lacked to recognise the intensity of the feelings they felt the first time. The audience’s expectations were high to high. They saw the video on you tube over and over again. They expected something better than that.

What does better mean in that situation. Susan Boyle felt the pressure. She got confused. At the same time she had the totally new feeling: Lots of people respect my skills as singer. It stroked her suddenly. From all her experiences she expected something else: huge rejection and opposition. Dealing with appreciation was something NEW to her.

Susan Boyle’s life had changed since her first performance. She still sings beautiful. The audience wants this little extra of the first time, THE SURPRISE FACTOR. They want to be amazed by the intensity of her performance.

For Susan Boyle something changed. She experienced lots of surprising and exciting things. She had to practise besides all of it. Now she is closer to her dream than ever before.

Her instance gave hope to lots of people, that there is more than just the look and being known.

Now what? Susan Boyle has to grow into her new life. That takes time. Figuring out who of the new people are real friends and who just want to earn from her celebrity status. Give her time. The expectations are high.

The best would be she finds a new intensive feeling for each song she sings. That is a huge challenge, besides all the new she has to deal with. This intensity of feeling and her cheeky grin is what the people love to see.

I am sure you have a unique gift too. Is it what you earn money with or something different? Anyway nurture your unique gift, and you will grow each time you use it. People will see you shining. They will see your eyes sparkling when you do it.

In case you want to become famous for your gift learn how to be you all the time. Learn what makes you unique in the crowd of others doing it. Is it your cheeky grin? Then find out what makes you grin like that. Or can you make others feel light-hearted and laughing in serious circumstances? Or are you able to grab which is the most important to do when pretty anything seems out of hand?

Bring together YOUR SPECIAL GIFT with your personal attitude to do it. Find out how you can feel that refreshing excitement of the first time again and again. Doing something for the first time is very different from the feeling you have when you do it regularly. The intensity of your learning is much higher as well as the feelings attached to that situation.

Living in the moment means to experience fresh and intense feelings over and over.

On the other side you will be surprised lots of times. That could be enjoying or disappointing. Surprises could drive you up the walls or let you skip and dance out of joy.

Your life will change when you live in the moment. You will find beauty in details, and you will see a bigger picture behind because you see the connections.

Learn to feel and enjoy your joy. Learn to express your joy honestly as it attracts people to connect with you.

Go and have fun doing what you love from heart! Show the world your gift!
